We know that brushing hair is an important part of our day, we do it practically by inertia, it’s like brushing your teeth; but did you know that you’re probably doing it wrong?
Brushing your hair with a lot of strength, without using moisturizing products, or breaking the knots in a powerful way, are common practices that can turn our hair into fragile and consequently break it.
So, if you want your hair to grow healthy, strong and shiny, pay close attention to the following recommendations
First of all, cut your hair every 3 months, even if it’s just to make it stand out, as this prevents forks from appearing and reduces the risk of it getting stuck without growing.
#2, don’t stretch your hair too tightly; we tend to think that if we apply too much force the knots will come out faster, but nothing is further from the truth. We have to be very careful when combing our hair.
Always untangle from the bottom up, start by combing small sections of your lower hair and work your way up from there.
This way, you’ll undo the knots in a more gentle way with your scalp.
Avoid hair-picking garters and prefer hooks instead; they don’t put as much pressure on your hair and tangle it up much less.
Don’t comb your hair so often, especially if you want it to grow, as each time you comb it you stimulate more hair loss.
Clean your blow-dryer brushes often, as they tend to collect dust in their bristles that can get between your strands of hair.
Prefer wood brushes, rather than plastic ones, as they tend to generate less frizz in your hair.
Finally, don’t forget that no matter what style you have in your hair, you should moisturize it – either at home or with cosmetic products – to give it strength, shine and volume.
And if you want glamorous curls, always opt for wave forms that don’t involve using heat on your hair; this, combined with the damage done by the hairstyle, can do a lot of damage to your scalp.
